High-voltage high-power VV fuses are designed to protect high-voltage devices (power lines, transformers, motors, capacitor banks) from thermal and dynamic consequences of short-circuit current, overloads, as well as from uncontrolled temperature increase (when using fuses with a thermal switch).

A new generation of fuses with a thermal switch – THERMO – series VVT-D and VVT-E is designed to protect equipment where the critical parameter is an increase in temperature both inside the fuse and in the surrounding space, especially when used with an SF6 cell with gas insulation.

A series of fuses without a thermal switch is designated VV C.
